| In 1990, I started primary school in Denpasar.
After I finished primary school, I started junior high school. In 2002,
I finished senior high school. In addition to regular classes, I also
was learning Balinese dancing as an extra program from school. After
high school, I began working at Warung Bendega in 2003 as a cook
helper. For two and a half years, I worked at Bendega, and then I
started working at the Mini-bar Seafood Restaurant in 2005. I worked as
a bartenderess and later as a cashier. This is also where I started to
learn to speak more English. In 2006, I met Mike and Nee Lee while at my job. Mike asked me if I wanted to go to college. I was very surprised, and I thought maybe he was just kidding. He told me he was serious and that he would pay for it. This made me feel very happy and lucky. When I told my family, they were also surprised. They also thought this was very lucky for me. After work one day, Mike took me to LP3i Business College to pay my tuition for the first year. He also bought me a computer. I chose to do the computer accounting program. I did this for one year. Mike returned with Nee Lee in 2007, and he also introduced me to his new friend, Scott. While they were in Bali, they came to visit my family in my village. I showed them my house and also the pigs we raise. Together we also visited the Ulun Danu Bratan Temple in Bedugul and shared dinner nearby. Mike has been very generous to me and my family. He was also understanding when I decided to switch to the business administration program after my first year of college. I am now half done with this program, which I like more than the computer accounting program and also will help me more with my future job. Originally Posted: December 2008 |
